Thank you. A few quick-take reactions based upon an initial, cursory glance...
Before I begin, let's note that Ohio currently ranks 35th for job creation, I believe. (We covered this on Ohio Political News 2 weeks ago). It's also important to note that today's vote would add 15 more years starting in 2036 - I'm not sure when the public (accidentally?) became aware of this impending vote/extension request but for my part, this doesn't give me much time. If approved, this group will continue to receive tax revenue in Ohio from 2036 through 2051, begging the question, why extend now?
Accounting:
- How much does Deloitte get paid to keep compiling, reporting, and auditing these financials? Could this be better spent by making such tax revenue/initiatives immediately transparent to the public? NOTE: Deloitte is not the *most* woke accounting firm that I've seen, but their webpage/marketing Social Justice slogans like "equity" and "sustainability" feels awfully like CRT/DEI and Climate-activism. Online posts & commentary about Deloitte appear to indicate a toxic environment of LGBTQ activism & pronoun training for employees. Is Ohio helping sponsor and pay for this by paying Deloitte (I haven't found yet what we're giving them)?
- Detail is not immediately clear. Categories like "investments at fair value" and "gain on investments" are not clear. It's possible that with enough time, we can figure out how much of the revenue they bring in is actually applied toward the mission and how much goes toward overhead. Are there examples of very highly paid Executives and Administrators, and is this NGO an example of one that allows a significant % of revenue go toward overhead in general, as appears to be the case with many NGOs?
- What ties or connections does this NGO have to any existing politicians, if any? This is important to ask because we're learning that other NGOs have all sorts of alleged connections to politicians, judges, and family members, as well as other NGOs. And, if there are ties, could this be the reason an extension is being considered this early?
There's more I could say, but will leave it here for now...
[We have a country to save. We're going to win some battles and lose others. This war to rein in government will not be won quickly or easily. But it must be done.]
As for Jobs Ohio: a group of us who care deeply about Ohio learned of this horrible plan to extend the Jobs Ohio contract roughly 48 hours before the vote took place. We did what we could to get the message out, including videos like the one above. Ultimately, this passed, and Jobs Ohio appears to be an embedded NGO through 2053 (unless perhaps a DOGE-Ohio audit finds fraud, misappropriation of funds, or conflicts of interest in the vote & timing, all of which I suspect but cannot at this time prove).
Here's the financial statements. They are posted online for the public to read

Here's the full story from Matt Urbas: https://www.theohioregister.com/jobsohio-deal-extended-to-2053/
CTA done for both Rep and senator. I don’t have much faith in either one at this point and the rep for 80th district was just newly elected.
I am reminded that Jesus was kind but wasn’t necessarily nice. I am definitely about tired of being nice to these traitors.
